Against the backdrop of a continuously evolving global investment environment, high-net-worth individuals’ core concerns focus on asset security and certainty in residence planning. On 14 October 2025, FGI Group Holdings invited Portugal’s Bison Bank and Peak Re to Shenzhen for its first in-person in-depth briefing, with a Fosun Asset Management (FAM) representative attending the private forum. Institutional representatives provided a broad analysis of macro policy, asset custody, risk-control logic and fund practice. Guest attendance is a factual event record and does not constitute endorsement of any product or service.

Nuno Correia, General Manager of Business Development at Bison Bank, introduced Bison Bank as a fully licensed Portuguese bank focused on asset management for high-net-worth clients. According to his presentation at the event (2025), its service network covers 120 countries and more than 6,000 clients, it works with more than 150 funds, and manages approximately EUR 3.6 billion in assets. Bison Bank is also the custodian bank for FUTURE I. According to the guest’s presentation, the FUTURE project had become one of Bison Bank’s largest partners in the Portuguese fund sector, and the parties marked this cooperation milestone at the event.

Nuno Correia further introduced that Bison Bank had obtained authorisation for digital-asset investment and would continue to work with the FGI team to provide diversified solutions such as fund investment, Golden Visa capital flows and digital-asset allocation, while supporting Chinese-language remote account-opening procedures to improve the operational efficiency of cross-border investment. These descriptions of institutional capabilities reflect the guest’s presentation at the event (2025) and do not constitute a promise of any service outcome.

David Menezes, Chief Risk Officer of Peak Re, used the example of “the insurer of insurers” to analyse how the reinsurance industry operates. Within the insurance ecosystem, risk is redistributed through the chain of policyholder, insurer, reinsurer and reinsurance market; the role of reinsurers is to provide risk transfer and capital support to insurers. According to the guest’s presentation (2025), Peak Re manages approximately USD 3.3 billion in assets and, supported by a prudent capital structure and risk-management system, is one of Asia’s major reinsurers. The presentation also referred to several industry firsts: the first Asian reinsurer to introduce a sidecar mechanism, to issue a catastrophe bond in Hong Kong, and to issue hybrid capital securities.

In the second half, Dr Wu Mingqi, Founder and Chairman of FGI Group Holdings, Liang Jiankang, Chief Financial Officer and Director of FGI Capital, and a Fosun Asset Management (FAM) representative joined the private forum. It first considered policy developments, from family-reunification provisions to accelerated AIMA processing, sharing current developments and trend assessments. On the funding side, the FAM representative, as a representative of the underlying-asset investor, explained the fund’s security structure and return model. The forum also discussed FUTURE’s annual distribution logic: its objective is periodic distributions based on returns from genuine underlying assets. This reflects speakers’ presentations at the event; speakers’ views do not constitute a promise of return, and actual distributions are subject to fund legal documentation and underlying-asset performance.

The forum also emphasised that residence planning requires long-term support. Having operated in Portugal for more than a decade, FGI Group Holdings has teams spanning property development, fund management and client service, and can provide end-to-end support from project visits and investment implementation to children’s education and settling into daily life. “We do not only invest; we are also long-term companions in Portugal.”

FGI Capital is a licensed professional institution focused on cross-border investment and asset management and regulated by the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM). According to public institutional information (2025), the team has historically managed more than EUR 3 billion and currently manages five products, with many years of operating experience in private equity, real-estate funds and investment-immigration-related products. Fund investment involves risk; product terms are governed by formal legal documentation.
